The ammi that were planted in March, potted on and planted out in May are in flower. I am very pleased with them and they seem relatively pest resistant (unlike the eryngiums that I planted - one of which has already been eaten by slugs! )
I first heard about them reading a column by Anna Pavord and would happily grow them again. They are also known as Queen Anne's lace. The delicate flower heads are quite lace like and are attractive to bees and hover flies. They provide a bit of height to the border and mixed in with other plants look good.
