Colour in the front garden

We inherited this holly tree which has yellow berries on it. It must be 15 or 20 years old. Today the berries contrasted well with the blue sky. In colder weather the birds enjoy eating them; we have seen fieldfares and redwings in it as well as blackbirds.

A dark purple mallow is in flower having not done so well over the summer months.

The mahonia is also coming into flower with its bright yellow flower spikes. I think it is Mahonia x media Charity.

Finally, the erigeron are still going strong, so had to take yet another photo before the colder weather arrives.
