A Rainy Bank-Holiday Monday

View from the greenhouse

It has been so dry here for months and months. Plants in the garden have suffered. A hosepipe ban was introduced last week across the south east of England. It is raining today. Rain is pattering against the windows. The water is dripping off the greenhouse into the bucket that is there to collect it. It has a mint root in it that is starting to sprout.

The water butts are filling up. Apparently, weeks and weeks of rain is what is required. We shall have to wait and see what we get and learn to be grateful for it. The garden certainly needs it. A shame it has arrived on a bank-holiday.
