Gaura lindheimeri
Gaura is a perennial with long spikes of floaty white flowers that appear in August and keeps flowering into the autumn. It likes full sun and survives in poorer chalky soils. I have found it to be quite hardy surviving several snowy winters. Quite often in the spring it will appear almost dead, but then green shoots appear and it is off for another year of flowering. It is easily propagated from softwood cuttings.
