Crocus bulbs often get dug up by squirrels, but if the pots are covered in chicken wire until they start shooting in the spring they seem to be alright. Our soil is not moist or good enough for Fritillaria meleagris or Snake's head fritillary but I read somewhere they can be grown in pots so I am having a go and will see if it works.
