Also known as Christmas box this evergreen shrub has small white flowers at this time of year that smell incredibly sweetly. We have 2 in pots near the back door which provide scent when you go outside in winter. This one in the border was only planted last year and is still quite small but they can reach a metre or two in height. They will grow in dry shade too.
