This is an old fashioned shrub rose which has a delicate scent and only flowers once. It was planted 2 or 3 years ago. Last year it looked in a poor state, but after a mulch of manure over winter it looks much better. I may have pruned it too hard as well and it was rather smothered by other plants around it.
