Pennisetum macrourum

We planted this several years ago and I always find it hard to remember names of grasses. It was only by finding the plant labels and then checking images on the internet that I was able to work out the name of this particular grass. It is apparently known as African feather grass, coming from southern and eastern Africa. The flower heads are very soft and tactile and last from summer into autumn. It is quite exposed on the slope in our garden, but seems to have survived so far.
